Core Return Policy
Everything you need to know to get the maximum refund on your transmission core.
What Is a Core Charge?
A core charge is a refundable deposit collected at the time of purchase for your original transmission and, when applicable, the torque converter. Returning your core helps us remanufacture future units while keeping costs down for all of our customers.
Once your eligible core has been received and inspected, your refundable core deposit will be credited back to you, less applicable return freight, pickup charges, and any approved deductions.
Eligible Core Requirements
To qualify for a core refund, the returned core must meet all of the following:
Same Transmission Family
Supplied by Twisted Torque™, matching what was originally shipped.
Matches Your Invoice
The returned core must match the transmission listed on your invoice.
Substantially Complete
Returned fully assembled, not broken down into individual parts.
Includes Torque Converter
The matching torque converter must be included when applicable.
Rebuildable Condition
Returned in a condition that allows us to remanufacture it.
Incorrect, incomplete, severely damaged, or non-matching cores may receive a reduced refund or no refund.
Core Refund Adjustments
Your refundable core amount is listed on your sales invoice. Return shipping and pickup charges are deducted before your refund is issued.

Example: If your refundable core charge is $500 and return freight is $250, your refund would be $250, provided no additional deductions apply.
Preparing Your Core Return
Before your scheduled pickup:
Completely drain all fluid from the transmission.
Completely drain all fluid from the torque converter.
Securely strap the torque converter to the transmission.
Do not return loose internal parts.
Package the transmission securely to prevent shipping damage.
Follow all shipping instructions provided with your Return Authorization.
Failure to properly prepare your core may delay processing or result in additional deductions.
Inspection & Processing
Every returned core is inspected upon arrival. Refunds are issued after inspection is complete and the core is verified, with freight, pickup fees, and any approved deductions applied. Refunds are typically processed within 30 days of receipt, though timing may vary with inspection volume or payment method.
Core Returns & Warranty
Core returns and warranty coverage are separate policies. Failure to return a required core may result in forfeiture of your refundable core deposit and may affect eligibility for future core exchange programs. It does not, however, alter the terms of the Twisted Torque™ Warranty unless specifically stated on your invoice.
