The Twisted Punisher™ C4 4x4 is our heavy-duty C4 build for higher-horsepower 4x4s, off-road builds and modified classic Ford trucks and Broncos.
We start with the increased clutch capacity and performance setup used in our Pro, then step up the hard parts where the C4 needs it. The Punisher gets a 300M billet input shaft, billet C-ratio servo, wide performance intermediate band and a more aggressive TransGo calibration.
Built around the Pan-Fill C4 4x4 configuration with normal automatic operation.
Put it in Drive and drive it. When you're off-road and want to control the gear yourself, pull it down and hold the gear you need.
The 0.839" 26/24-spline 300M billet steel input shaft replaces the standard input shaft used in our Pro build and gives the Punisher the stronger late-model C4 input setup we want at this power level.
The standard Punisher keeps the C4 automatic and forward pattern.
Put it in Drive and let it shift automatically, or manually select the gears when you need more control on the trail.
Compared with the Pro, the Punisher gets more line pressure, quicker shift timing, a wide performance intermediate band and billet C-ratio servo.
The valve body, servo and band are set up together for a positive 1–2 apply and firm 2–3 shift under load.
Reverse-pattern full-manual and transbrake valve bodies are available as options for builds that need them.
The Punisher comes standard with a:
0.839" 26/24-Spline 300M Billet Steel Input Shaft
This is standard in the Punisher, not an add-on.
The late C4 26/24 configuration gives us the 26-spline converter-side setup and the stronger shaft we want for this build.
The Punisher steps up to a Billet C-Ratio Intermediate Servo.
The larger apply area gives us more holding force on the intermediate band and works with the wide performance band and increased line pressure for a quicker, more positive 1–2 shift.
This is the complete billet C-ratio servo piston setup, not just a billet servo cover.
This transmission is built specifically for Pan-Fill C4 4x4 applications.
This is NOT the same fitment as our 2WD case-fill C4.
The Ford pan-fill C4 configuration uses the larger 164-tooth flexplate/bellhousing setup.
If your Bronco or truck has had an engine, transmission, transfer case or drivetrain swap, tell us what is currently installed.
Please select a torque converter from the available options if one is needed.
This Punisher is built around the late-model 26-spline converter-side input configuration.
For this Pan-Fill 4x4 C4, select one of the 164T converter options offered with the transmission.
Do not select a 157T converter for this Pan-Fill 4x4 application.
If you purchase a converter with your transmission, we will supply the correct converter spline configuration to match the C4 being built.
For modified, stroker, boosted or hard off-road applications, stall speed needs to be matched to the engine, cam, vehicle weight, gearing, tire size and how the vehicle is being used.
Flexplate is NOT included.
This Pan-Fill C4 uses the 164T bellhousing configuration.
If you need a bellhousing, select:
164T Bell Housing
Do not select the 157T bellhousing option for this transmission.
These trucks and Broncos are decades old and a lot of them have been swapped, lifted, regeared or modified.
We need to know what is actually in the vehicle now.
Please provide:
Early Bronco C4 applications commonly use the Dana 20 transfer case. If you're running a different transfer case or aftermarket adapter, let us know when ordering.
Built for properly matched:
650 HP is the upper rating and is application dependent.
Horsepower alone doesn't tell us what a C4 is going to see in a 4x4. Vehicle weight, engine torque, tire size, axle gearing, transfer-case gearing and how hard the truck is being used all matter.
If you're running big tires, deep gears, a stroker, boost or using the truck hard off-road, give us the complete setup before ordering.
The standard Punisher does not need every race part we offer. These are available when the build calls for them:
For a serious off-road build, don't just check every box. Tell us the weight, engine, tire size, axle ratio, transfer case and how you're using it so we can set the transmission up for the truck.
