Chevrolet 216 / 235 / 261 Inline-6 to GM Automatic Transmission Adapter Kit

Keep your classic Chevy straight-six and upgrade the transmission behind it.

Available through Twisted Torque, the PACH101 adapter kit connects Chevrolet 216, 235 and 261 inline-six engines to the Chevrolet V8 automatic transmission bellhousing pattern referenced by the TH350 and TH400.

Whether you’re building a vintage pickup, cruiser or custom project, this kit provides the engine-to-transmission connection without replacing your Stovebolt engine.

**Early four-bolt crankshafts: The standard supplied flexplate will not fit. Contact us before ordering.**

Transmission selection: TH350 and TH400 including 200-4R, 700R4 and electronically controlled options such as EARLY 4L60E or 4L80E.

Chevrolet engines only: GMC inline-six engines require a different adapter kit. Send us your engine information if you’re unsure what you have.

Electrical system: Confirm starter voltage requirements before installation, particularly on vehicles retaining an original 6-volt system.

Planning Your Swap

This kit handles the engine-to-transmission connection. Your vehicle may also need transmission mounts, crossmember changes, driveshaft work, shifter linkage, cooler lines and throttle linkage.

Vehicles with an enclosed torque-tube driveline will require an open-driveline conversion when installing a conventional TH350 or TH400.

Transmission and torque converter are sold separately. Electronic transmission controllers and TPS components, when required, are additional. Hydraulic transmissions such as the TH350 and TH400 do not require a standalone electronic shift controller.
