The F220 164-tooth flexplate is for Ford small-block applications requiring a 50 oz external balance, primarily later 302 / 5.0L Ford engines.

Designed for properly matched C4, AOD, AODE and 4R70W automatic transmission and torque converter combinations.

🛠️ ENGINE APPLICATIONS

Ford 302 / 5.0L

Typically used with 1981-up 302 / 5.0L engines using the factory-style 50 oz external balance rotating assembly.

⚠️ NOT A FACTORY 351W BALANCE

The factory-style 351W / 5.8L Windsor uses 28 oz external balance, not 50 oz.

For a stock-style 289, early 302 or 351W requiring 28 oz external balance, use our F200 164-Tooth 28 oz Flexplate.

⚙️ TRANSMISSION COMPATIBILITY

For properly matched 164-tooth Ford automatic applications:

Transmission, bellhousing, starter and torque converter configuration must match the 164-tooth flexplate.

⚠️ C4 OWNERS: VERIFY TOOTH COUNT

Not every C4 uses a 164-tooth flexplate.

Some C4 applications use the smaller 157-tooth configuration.

Verify the existing flexplate, bellhousing and converter configuration before ordering.

⚠️ 28 OZ OR 50 OZ?

For typical factory Ford small-block configurations:

289 → 28 oz

302 through 1980 → 28 oz

351W / 5.8L → 28 oz

1981-up 302 / 5.0L → 50 oz

THE FLEXPLATE BALANCE MUST MATCH THE ENGINE'S ROTATING ASSEMBLY.

Do not select a flexplate by displacement alone.

Stroker engines, crate engines, replacement crankshafts, aftermarket rotating assemblies and internally balanced engines may require a different flexplate than the original factory application.

If your engine requires 28 oz external balance, use our F200 164-Tooth 28 oz Flexplate.

🔩 TORQUE CONVERTER FITMENT

The torque converter bolt pattern must match the flexplate being used.
