The Twisted Street™ 65RFE is our factory-spec remanufactured transmission built for stock 4.7L V8 and 5.7L HEMI applications, daily driving, and light-duty towing.

Each transmission is torn down, cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt in-house with new clutches, steels, seals, bushings, and updated hydraulic controls. We retain factory clutch configurations and apply the appropriate factory and ATSG service corrections during the rebuild.

New OEM-Spec Clutches & Steels

• New factory-spec friction clutches and steel plates throughout
• Underdrive, Overdrive, Reverse, 2C, and 4C clutch packs rebuilt
• New clutch pistons and bonded seals where applicable
• Clutch pack clearances checked and set to factory specifications

Remanufactured & Updated Valve Body

• Valve body disassembled, cleaned, and inspected in-house
• Solenoid switch valve and low/reverse switch valve circuits inspected for bore wear and leakage
• Pressure regulator and converter-control circuits checked
• Accumulator pistons and seals serviced as required
• Applicable ATSG and factory service corrections performed
• Valve-body operation checked for proper hydraulic control

New Solenoid / TRS Assembly

• New application-correct solenoid and transmission range sensor assembly
• Electrical connections inspected
• Solenoid operation and compatibility verified

Remanufactured Front Pump

• Pump gears, housing, and support inspected for wear
• Pump clearances checked to factory specifications
• Pressure-regulator and converter-feed circuits inspected
• Worn or damaged pump parts replaced

New Seals, Bushings & Internal Wear Parts

• Complete new overhaul gasket and seal kit
• New sealing rings and O-rings
• New factory-spec bushings
• New applicable clutch piston seals
• New thrust washers and bearings as required

Inspected OEM Hard Parts

• Planetary gearsets, drums, shafts, and clutch housings inspected
• Splines, bearing surfaces, and related wear areas checked
• Damaged or out-of-specification hard parts replaced

Factory-Stall Torque Converter — Included

• Application-matched factory-stall converter
• New lockup clutch lining
• Internal bearings and wear parts serviced as required
• Converter inspected, pressure-tested, and balanced

New Transmission Filters

• New transmission sump filter
• New spin-on cooler-return filter
• New filter seals
• Transmission pan inspected and cleaned

The Twisted Street™ 65RFE is intended for stock and mildly modified applications operating within the stated power and torque limits.

Recommended for:

• Stock 4.7L V8 applications

• Daily-driven trucks and SUVs
• Factory-rated light-duty towing
• Mild engine upgrades within the transmission's rating

• Dodge Durango — 2012–2013, 5.7L HEMI
• Jeep Grand Cherokee — 2012–2013, 5.7L HEMI

Available for applicable 2WD and 4WD configurations.

Fitment must be verified by VIN and original transmission identification. Not all engines, model years, or trim packages listed above were equipped with the 65RFE.

This build is specifically for the 65RFE and does not include the 45RFE, 545RFE, 66RFE, or 68RFE.

Programming & Installation

The 65RFE uses the vehicle's existing electronic transmission controls. A new TCM is not normally required when the original vehicle controller is functional and compatible.

After installation, the transmission must undergo the applicable Chrysler Quick Learn procedure using a compatible diagnostic scan tool.

Installation Requirements:

• Professional installation by a qualified repair facility
• Replace or properly flush the transmission cooler and lines
• Use Mopar ATF+4 fluid meeting Chrysler MS-9602
• Set fluid level according to factory procedures
• Perform transmission Quick Learn
• Verify proper shift operation and check for diagnostic trouble codes
